EMMAX is a GWAS tool based on efficient mixed model association analysis. It uses variance component models (including additive genetic variance and residual variance) to correct for population structure and kinship, thereby reducing false positive associations in GWAS. Compared with the standard linear mixed model method, EMMAX significantly improves computational efficiency through algorithm optimization, enabling it to handle large-scale GWAS datasets with thousands of samples and millions of SNPs.
