Harnessing the rich biodiversity of Southwest China, we conduct cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in genomics, population genetics, and ecological informatics — supporting national strategies for biodiversity conservation and sustainable use.
The Yunnan Key Laboratory of Biological Big Data, hosted by Yunnan University, was approved by Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology in 2018. Leveraging Yunnan's exceptional biodiversity, we focus on critical scientific questions in biological big data acquisition, integration, analysis, and mining — building a high-impact research platform with international reach.
The lab currently has 42 staff researchers, including 15 professors/researchers and 12 associate professors. We lead 80+ active grants from national key R&D programs and NSFC key projects, publishing 60+ SCI papers per year.
Latest research progress, important events, academic exchanges, and industry highlights.
We organize our work around five core directions, building an integrated basic–methods–applied research chain.
