May 22, 2026, marks the 26th International Day for Biological Diversity. On this occasion, Agrobiodiversity (Agricultural Biodiversity, eISSN 3066-3601) also celebrates its second anniversary of publication. The past year has been an important one for the journal's continued growth and expanding international influence. In terms of international dissemination and academic platform building, the journal has steadily advanced its internationalization process, successively completing eISSN registration, Crossref registration, and being successfully indexed by major international databases including AGRIS, CAS, and CABI. This signifies that the international visibility, academic dissemination capacity, and global influence of Agrobiodiversity are continuously improving, and also indicates that the journal is gradually integrating into the important exchange system of international agricultural biodiversity research.
Focusing on the core themes of agricultural biodiversity and the future development of agriculture, the journal has continued to advance thematic planning and cutting-edge research organization. Over the past year, the journal has successively launched special issues including "Advances in Plant Functional Genomics" and "Integrative Perspectives on Rice," with key focuses on plant functional genomics, genetic transformation and gene editing, crop stress-resistance mechanisms, rice germplasm resources, water-saving cultivation models, and sustainable development of agricultural ecosystems, further strengthening the journal's interdisciplinary character and international academic positioning.
At the same time, Agrobiodiversity has published a series of representative research achievements, covering plant–microbe interactions, evolution of agricultural ecosystems, haploid breeding technology, and agricultural adaptation research under climate change, among other areas. These studies not only reflect the development trends of modern agricultural science and technology but also further highlight the important significance of agricultural biodiversity in ensuring food security, ecological security, and sustainable agricultural development.
Over the past year, Agrobiodiversity has continuously expanded international cooperation and academic exchanges, gradually forming a publishing characteristic that combines scientific frontiers, global vision, and practical concerns. In the future, the journal will continue to focus on the conservation and utilization of agricultural biodiversity, future agricultural biotechnology, ecological agriculture, climate change adaptation, and global food security, promoting more high-quality research achievements to serve sustainable agricultural development and the common future of humanity.
